Prior to World War I, Edmonton was in the midst of a real estate boom. From the time it was incorporated as a town in 1892 until 1913, Edmonton expanded its boundaries substantially. The land that Kensington includes was subdivided by 1911 and was part of a large block of land that was annexed by Edmonton in 1913.

A commodity crash which threatens to burst Edmonton's housing bubble has become cause for caution, for both buyers and sellers, in the local real estate market.
With 618 properties sold in January, sales were down 13.3 per cent from December, and 7.2 per cent since the same timeframe last year, according to month-end statistics from the Edmonton Real Estate Board.

Parkview is a residential neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley. The neighbourhood is informally split into two smaller neighbourhoods, with the portion east of 142 Street called Valleyview and the portion west of 142 Street called Parkview.
