VANCOUVER - Canadians are beginning to take the hint that it is time to start putting away their credit cards, according to new data from CIBC Economics.
Growth in household credit fell to 0.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2010, down from about 1.5 per cent in the second quarter and its slowest pace in more than nine years. The increase in October alone, adjusted for inflation, was also the softest reading in 15 years.
